I went to consult for a chest related pain/tension at our local Hospital's OPD and was booked for GMOPD in a weeks time. Anyone know what this department is - or the GM stands for as the OPD part should still refer to the Out Patient Department. I am trying to find out what is done there. Its a public hospital and I am already concerned about indifference that exist over gender of the medical care prividers in sensitive operation.

Turned out that this was the general OPD based periodic checkup. The G stands for General while I sadly forgot if the M was said to be Medicine (or something similar).
